NEON BENDERS

1)    Must have at least 4 to 5 years of neon bending

2)    Must be proficient and knowledgeable with a great  understanding of the processing of neon tubes

3)    Speed and accuracy and I mean spot on the patterns

4)    Must be organized and keep a clean environment at all times.

5)    Know how to maintain the bombarding system

6)    Have the know how  to order all supplies for the glass bending department

FABRICATORS,

Duties

1)    Understanding of shop drawings and blueprints.

2)    Construction skills

3)    CNC routing

4)    Painting

5)    Welding

6)    use of all hand and power tools ( must also have them)

7)    Some electrical knowledge

8)    Neon and sign making experience a big plus

My name is Page and I am the marketing director for Western Neon in Seattle. Western Neon, established in 1985, is looking for an experienced neon tube bender. This is a full-time position working directly with our Production Coordinator to manage new projects as well as service repairs. We are a commercial shop with an emphasis on having fun and creating art daily!

Must Have:

-at least 5 years’ experience bending glass professionally

-complete understanding of tube bombarding and processing

-ability to maintain bombarding systems and manifolds

-knowledge and ability to complete advanced neon techniques including but not

limited to:

*oven/kiln processing single electrode soda lime and borosilicate

*crackle units

*uncoated neon filled units

*cold cathode

Must be able to:

– bend glass full-time

– manage production in addition to service repairs

– work dynamically with custom fabrication team

– communicate accurately and effectively with production team

-maintain a clean and efficient work space

– lift 50 lbs

Salary: $50,000.00 to $75,000.00 /year

We are looking for a neon bender who would like to relocate to San Antonio Tx.  We are looking to either purchase your plant if you have one or buy the necessary parts to set up a first class shop.  We already manufacture our own stainless steel, furniture, etc. for our 6+ restaurants but we have a lot of neon and want to add more to the inside and outside of our restaurants.  In addition, the job would include responsibly for all signage repairs in the company, including led, neon and backlit. We will furnish all tools, materials and we have months of work right now on repairs and new signage.  Ability to fabricate all metal a plus – we are interested in doing that as well and will buy the equipment.  We currenly have welders so am not looking for welding experience, but that’s a plus.

We are opening a barbecue restaurant and need to cover the walls in custom signs.  We already have a bunch of ideas for the signs.

I’m sure there is someone out there who hates that neon has been forgotten or isn’t as popular as it used to.
